The structure for the unit utilizes the U.S. Navy model for command and control. This structure enables each NSCC unit and NLCC unit to focus on their specific training and operational requirements with support from senior NSCC and Adult Leaders.

The NSCC Cadet Chain of Command re-inforces the U.S. Navy model and provides leadership opportunities to qualified older cadets. Each position has its own work content that supports training and character building goals.
